What are the Top Casino-Related Movies of the Past?

Everyone enjoys a good list, don’t they? Whether it’s the top ten best beaches in Maharashtra or the top five foods that you should be eating, they give us a great way to find out about new things. If you enjoy visiting an online casino to play your favorite games, then you also probably find gambling an interesting subject as a whole.

If so, check out the list below for some casino-related movies that you need to see.

Casino

With a title like this, Casino has to get a mention! Released in 1995, it has an all-star cast featuring Robert De Niro, Sharon Stone and Joe Pesci. It is a long film, but it never gets boring due to the gripping casino-based storyline. The overall plot sees the main characters battle for control of a Mafia-backed casino empire and explores the hedonistic lifestyle of that gambling mecca, Las Vegas. Though quite blood-thirsty, it is still a great film related to casinos that you should check out.

Rain Man

This is a bit of a stretch as the casino scene is at the end and is not that long! Starring Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman, Rain Man tells the story of two brothers. Hoffman’s character is a mentally ill savant who Cruise’s character eventually uses in a famous casino scene to win money by counting cards. It really is a top-class film and sees Cruise as the hustling brother in top 1980s form.

Ocean’s Eleven

To be fair, you could have picked any of the Ocean’s films here! This first one is great though and sees George Clooney playing the central character, Danny Ocean. He puts together a team of 11 criminals with a cunning plan to rob three Las Vegas casinos at the same time. It is shot very well and has plenty of action to keep you watching.

Vegas Vacation

One of the most popular comedy franchises in the 1980s and 1990s was the Chevy Chase-fronted National Lampoon films. This installment saw the Griswold family book a vacation to Las Vegas and try their hand in the casinos there. As usual, it has lots of funny moments, and Chase is endearing as the perpetual loser, Clark Griswold. If you want some light relief from all the gangster-type casino films, then this is it.

Take a tip from the movies

While watching a casino-related film is great, playing your favorite game at an online casino is even better. Stakers has a wide choice of all the best table and slot games to enjoy. Before long, you will feel like a star in your very own movie! Of course, the tuxedo and bow tie are optional.

Hollywood and casinos go together

There is no doubt that Hollywood and casinos are a great match. Both are glamorous, both offer an escape from normal life, and both are full of excitement. If you have not seen any of the above films, then it is worth taking the time to check them out. All of these movies offer not only a great storyline but also a new way in which to view casinos.
