It’s difficult to imagine that even a century and a half ago there was a small fishing village on the site of this thriving tourist center. However, nowadays Johor Bahru is the second largest and the most important city of Malaysia. It’s a very convenient destination, because many central streets of the city are closed for motor transport. Therefore, there is plenty of space for quiet walks and you don’t have to worry that your kid can run out onto the roadway. Legoland Malaysia
The park in all parameters is designed for families with children under 11. Most of the attractions are designed for young children. Of course, there are several roller coasters for parents.
Legoland Malaysia is divided into seven thematic zones: Lego City, Lego Kingdom, and Lego Technic. The most popular of them is Lego Kingdom – a reduced model of world famous landmarks. In fact, over 30 million of Lego bricks were used for the whole construction.
Kids and adults can also plunge into the atmosphere of Legoland by enjoying 4D Lego and Miniland studios. A distinctive feature of the Malaysian park is the lego-copies of the famous Asian sights, Angkor Wat temple complex, as well as Petronas Towers located in Kuala Lumpur.

Johor Bahru Zoo
This is one of the greatest relaxing spots for the whole family in Johor Bahru. Johor Bahru Zoo was opened in 1928 especially for the royal family and served as a separate zoo for Sultan Ibrahim‘s animals. Generally, it’s not large in size (12.5 hectares), but it offers incredibly beautiful landscapes and well maintained area. Exploring the collection of animals, the visitors of the zoo can enjoy boating or canoeing on the lake. Also, there’s a beautiful playground for kids. As the zoo is not very large, it’s not recommended to spend there more than 1-2 hours. Among the other attractions of the zoo are horse riding, animal feeding and birds watching.

Recreational Park City Forest
Despite the fact that Johor Bahru City Park is a fairly large territory with the area of about 13 hectares, it’s very close to the city center. It’s not just a park, but the whole tropical forest with seven lakes and amazing fountains. Recreational Park City Forest features specially equipped trails for walking and running with wooden platforms and bridges. There is also a large playground for the youngest visitors.
Among the other interesting objects of the park are traditional wooden houses decorated in Malay style and the orchid garden. This park is an excellent destination for family weekends. By the way, an outdoor swimming pool operates from Friday till Sunday right in the park.

Danga Bay
Danga Bay is probably the largest amusement park of Johor Bahru situated about 7 kilometers away from JB city center. In addition to a lot of entertainments provided for adults, such as a cruise on a speedboat, children won’t be bored in this park too. There is a Children’s Zoo, which operates daily from 3pm till 12am. Also, there is Danga Amusement Park. Of course, this is quite a big name for a theme park, which includes only 20 attractions, but your kids will be definitely pleased. A Ferris wheel, a flying elephant and a pirate ship are the major rides of the park.

Sanrio Hello Kitty Town
It should be noted that this is a great place for girls who like the famous ‘Hello Kitty’ brand. Boys can be bored there. However, there are some interesting entertainments for them in Thomas Town situated on the second floor. Little girls can make cookies, paint nails and, of course, take pictures with huge ‘kittens’.
