10 U.S. Destinations You Must Visit

The U.S. is a beautiful country with fascinating destinations. As a first-time road tripper in the country, you may be planning your route in a motorhome rental and you are curious as to where you should go. While everyone has their personal preference, my favorite destinations would be a mix of both some of the most beautiful national parks, as well as the cities that I would go back to again and again.

My Favorite U.S. Destinations

  1. Yosemite National Park

Yosemite National Park is one of the most visited national parks in the U.S., but don’t let the idea of crowds of tourists stop you. It’s worth visiting for several reasons. From the waterfalls to the beautiful sequoias, hills for hiking, and majestic cliffs, a pit-stop (or as long as you want) at Yosemite National Park will be a rewarding one.

  1. San Francisco

The city by the bay is one of the prettiest in the U.S. and it will undoubtedly be one of your favorite ones, as well. With plenty of outdoor spaces with incredible views-think the Golden Gate Bridge-and lots of activities for the local and tourist alike, San Francisco is the hip city that only gets trendier as the years go by. From the Mission District to a hop over the bridge to Marin, there is something for everyone in San Francisco.

  1. New York City

Who wouldn’t want to go to New York City? While it may seem overwhelming with a lot going on, it’s this very hustle and bustle that makes it the unique city it is. A place where you can find people from nearly every country in the world, New York City is a melting pot of personalities, experiences, and plenty of fun.

  1. Austin

While I wouldn’t normally include Texas on the must-see places, Austin is like no other Texan city. Unique, full of musicians, and a lot of really good food, if you want to experience a favorite Texan city, this is the place for you. It is also home to many foreigners, making it a great place to meet people from all over the world. Whether you visit during SXSW or you make sure to visit Salt Lick BBQ, I’m confident you will find something that you like in one of my favorite U.S. cities.

  1. Yellowstone National Park

Beauty is found in most national parks in the United States, but if you have a limited time in your motorhome rental on your road trip, I would say that you should put this iconic national park on your itinerary. With hot springs, plenty of wildlife, and views like you wouldn’t believe, Yellowstone should be on the top of your list.

  1. Miami

Miami is a great idea for those who want to have some quality beach time while in the U.S. and also if you enjoy a party every now and then. If you really want to see beautiful sights and fascinating water views, Key West is where it’s at.

  1. Grand Canyon National Park

Grand Canyon National Park is an icon and will provide you with fascinating views. It’s also a place where you can let your inner hiker free to roam the canyon that is known to be one of the most interesting places to hike in the U.S.

  1. Denver

Denver is not only home to friendly people, but it is also an incredibly beautiful city with plenty of surrounding natural locations for those who want the best of both worlds. Mountains, hills, forests, and a vibrant city life make this a great idea for those who want to enjoy some city living while being able to escape to the nearby nature.

  1. Denali National Park

Alaska is a gorgeous place with fascinating natural destinations that will make you want to take picture after picture. Denali National Park is one such place. With its towering snowcapped mountains, fascinating wildlife, and unique landscape, this is undoubtedly one of the most gorgeous parks to be found in the U.S. If you visit in the winter, you may get to pulled by dog sleds.

  1. New Orleans

More than almost any other city in the U.S., New Orleans deserves the title of unique. From the original cuisine that is extremely tasty to the ambiance, New Orleans is a place where you can enjoy plenty of live music, observe classy architecture, and pick up on the vibrant mood found in this popular Louisiana city. Don’t forget to set aside plenty of time to see the French Quarter.

As you can see, there are great places in the U.S. and these are just a few. Get planning and get driving in your motorhome rental, because the U.S. has plenty offer road trippers who want to see it for the first time. You won’t regret it!
