Oppo F1s – Must Read If You Planning To Buy

Oppo’s next “Selfie Expert” is set debut on August 3. The new device, just like its elder siblings, is touted to be a game changer for the Chinese giant. It promises a strong set of specs with a fancy camera, but as of now, apart from initial leaks, we haven’t a strong foothold on what is to come after few days.

The official launch is still a few days ahead, but there are somethings that most of our readers want to know- The look, feel and performance of Oppo F1s. These things might matter only to die-hard Oppo fans, but in case you’re planning a phone change to F1s, these things you should definitely keep in mind.

Here’s what you’ll get with the new Oppo F1s

A Beautifully Crafted Metal Body

Oppo has a knack for making mind-boggling smartphones. The company has already delivered some astounding beauties and it will not come as a surprise if Oppo F1s is also one of the meticulous piece of craftsmanship. As per tipped renders, the device will incorporate a metal body inspired from the iPhone 6s and another fresh phone, Oppo A59. It is said to feature a clean back panel with antenna lines on the top and bottom. It will probably ship in Gold and Grey avatars and will sport an almost bezel-less display on the front-panel with a fingerprint scanner integrated home-button at the bottom. On whole, with a dash of Oppo A59 and iPhone 6s like styling, the F1s will make a great style statement straight out-of-the-box.

A Compact Display

Unlike the F1 Plus, Oppo F1s is rumoured to incorporate a slightly smaller 5-inch display with 720p resolution or 5.5” with Full-HD. The device is expected to endow a decent visual experience, but if you’re looking for fine details and an exemplary viewing trip, maybe you should be looking for something more like a OnePlus 2 or 3. The display panel will look great with thin bezels and perfect viewing angles, and will also boast additional protection from Gorilla Glass to avoid scratches and external damages. Overall, we can say, Oppo F1s will bring a good but certainly not the best display.

Hardware and Performance

Even on the hardware front, Oppo F1s won’t offer any significant upgrades. The device is rumoured to use MediaTek’s MT6750 octa-core processor with 3GB RAM and will probably fall short in giving a performance boost over its predecessor. The octa-core processor from MediaTek will give sufficient power to handle moderate usage, but if you’re planning heavy games or multi-tasking for this chipset, be ready to see minor lags and performance glitches here and there.

As for storage, Oppo F1s will deliver the goods. The device is said to bear 32GB internal storage with microSD card support. It will cater all your needs and will keep sufficient space in store for all your files, docs, and apps.

 Software

Here you might see an upgrade. According to initial leaks and rumours, Oppo F1s will run the latest iteration of Android with its own custom skin. The interface will retain a bunch of features from the previous version Color OS, but some nifty improvements will also be coming from Android 6.0 Marshmallow. This basically includes effective memory management, native support for Android Pay and Fingerprint scanner, better battery backup and more!

The idea from Oppo to offer Android 6.0 looks great as in this price bracket only few phones offer Marshmallow out-of-the-box. It’s definitely a unique selling point for the handset!

Camera Performance

The biggest highlight, however, will be the camera of Oppo F1s. The device with looks of Oppo A59 brings a spectacular camera on offer. It makes an ideal ecosystem for photography fanatics and promises to deliver mind-boggling images with its 13-megapixel rear and 16-megapixel front-facing shooter. Yes, that’s right, the upcoming beauty from Oppo will pack 16-megapixel shooter for selfie-buffs in the country. It is something phenomenal as smartphones these days offer nothing more than 5 or 8-megapixels on the selfie-camera. The focus has always been on the main camera, but this handset tends to change that with an above par front-facing snapper. It will incorporate an aperture as wide as f/2.0 and will also include a slew of features and filters in the updated camera app.

Fingerprint Scanner

As we already mentioned, the fingerprint scanner will be positioned at the bottom of the front-panel. It will be mixed with the elongated home-button and is touted to unlock the device in just 0.22 seconds. The best part here is you don’t have to flip your phone to unlock it when its place on a flat surface.

We haven’t tested this scanner, but the rumoured unlock time is already giving us goose bumps. We expect a great user-experience, especially when it comes to unlocking the device and bio-metric security.

Battery-life

The upcoming Oppo F1s will deliver astound battery life with its long-lasting 3075mAh battery. The handset is said to last more than a day, and can easily live up to your expectations, even on hefty usage with a bit of everything- gaming, music-playback, calling, messaging, and social networking.

In addition to this, the prolonged battery life of this beast gets even better with advanced power saving features on Color OS. The UI from Oppo optimizes background apps effectively and extends the screen-on time by a significant margin. Meaning, if you’re looking for seamless work and play, this handset is an excellent companion to count on.

All these features make up the next big thing from Oppo. The dual-SIM based Oppo F1s will not only upgrade your smartphone experience, but will also replace your bulky camera. Its stunning metal body fits nicely in one hand and rear as well as front-facing shooter works terrifically in all environments.

The only thing that bothers us a bit is the processor of this handset. It’s fast and snappy, but might fail to boost your gaming or multi-tasking experience and can heat up as well!
