Barco ClickShare CSE-200 Review

The Barco ClickShare products allow users to share their screens and present with ease. In this post Peter Harris from Interact is going to review the Barco Clickshare CSE-200.

The second product in the excellent Barco ClickShare product range is the CSE-200. Unlike the Barco CS-100 this product is aimed squarely at companies with a medium sized meeting room or a board room. Just like all the ClickShare range the CSE-200 pretty much plug-in and play. Interact are a supplier of voice, video and data solutions. The company has been in business for over ten years with offices in the City of London and Essex. The company recently tested and reviewed some of the latest Barco ClickShare products, in this post they share their thoughts on the CSE-200.

So, what makes the Barco CSE-200 different from the CS-100?

For a start Barco have aimed this product at the enterprise space, Barco have added more security and more connectivity to the CSE-200 both of these features make it more appealing to the enterprise sector. The CSE-200 even offers support for AirPlay and it will let AirPlay users share their content at the same time we found this feature to be a real bonus and it was one that we particularly loved. In fact, when we tested it ourseleves this was one of the AirPlay feature was the one that really impressed our team the most. We believed this feature actively encouraged other people in the meeting to get involved, no more sleeping for those sitting at the back or those that are feeling a bit fragile after the night before.

What the Experts say

The Interact technical team had no problem integrating it onto their network, they found the enhanced security features to be pretty impressive and there were no complaints from our experts, the guys “in the know”!It runs on the same operating systems as the CS-100 this means it will work with devices running Windows versions 7,8,8.1 and 10. It will work well with OSX 10.10 and 10.11. Mobile users will need Android 4.1 or later and iOS 7.0 or later.

It also has one more USB port than the CS-100, its baby brother. it has two USB ports at the back and one USB port at front, it has an Ethernet port and 3.5mm jack. The warranty is the standard three years but it can be extended to five years if you like extra peace of mind.

Double the users

The CSE-200 can handle double the amount that the CS-100 can, upto sixteen users can use the CSE-200 at once. Interact find the amount of users to be a very impressive feature and when the company speak to their clients about this they are often very keen on it. Interact have let a few clients demo the CSE-200 and their response was unanimous, they all loved it. Interact insist they found no negatives with the CSE-200 and they thought the price point was spot on for the target market.

A better Option?

Would Interact choose the CSE-200 over the CS-100? Interact say that decision is really up to the client. Interact say in their opinion both ClickShare’s are excellent and they are both well worth the investment so it really boils down to how many are required. If you have less than eight users Interact would recommend the CS-100, if you have more users or you want to future proof your investment in this technology, Interact would recommend the CSE-200.
