Green Tech In Campervan

From the 1970s to the present day, oil prices have gone through spurts of surging and leveling off, repeatedly. The major manufacturers of RVs have reported that their sales have fallen markedly.

In general, an RV’s weight is proportional to the fuel consumption. So many families noticed that the fuel cost will exceed the cost of hotels and dinner when the oil rises. The same is true for the car industry. Many motorhome manufacturers have featured new green technology in their new models. Some campervan rental businesses such as Camperman Australia also provide Campervan relocation deals. For example they offer relocation deals for only one dollar from campervan hire brisbane branch to campervan hire melbourne branch to implement the idea of “green travel”. Green ideas are becoming more and more important in the future of campervan industry.

Many elements need to be considered when designing a new greener RV. The first and most important item is weight. Designers try to reduce the weight by using lightweight materials and enhancing the space structure. Certainty, if cutting power and performance can acceptable to consumers, cutting the horsepower of engine can also reduce fuel and material consumption. In addition, no-powered engine can be a very good idea as well.

A US RV company Damon unveiled a new RV from their Avanti series. Its fuel-efficiency is an obvious improvement over past models. Damon is famous for its green idea for RV designs by using a high performance chassis and engine. In addition, Avanti’s chassis is lower than normally position to reduce its driving resistance. Though this technology, its fuel-efficiency reach to extraordinary 14.5 mpg and beat off other similarly campervans.

A few days ago, during The CES 2014, we know that many new technologies will be used in future design. Here are a few of them:

Hydrogen instead of Petrol

TOYOTA have shown its new technology Fuel Cell Vehicle. This technology makes the vehicle last 480 miles through full of hydrogen.

Solar Charge

Ford unveil his solar charge technology as well, they call it “C-Max”. They cover a wide range of solar panel at the top of the vehicle. If you put your vehicle under the sun all day equal to power charge for 4 hours.

If the technologies above can be used in future design for campervan and finally come truth, we will be exciting and expecting for every trip.
