Specs and S3
When compared with the previous model S3, Galaxy S4 is not only thinner and lighter but also comes with an enlarged screen. The new model weighs a mere 130 g with a 4.99’’ screen that is capable of playing 1920×1080 HD. The processor is 1.9GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 accompanied by a 2 GB of LPDDR3 RAM. The storage capacity available on the microSD slot is up to 64 GB. The OS is (obviously)Android 4.2.2. And finally the dimensions: 136.6mm x 69.8mm x 7.9mm.
So far so impressive but we haven’t even started yet! Even though the Galaxy S4 might feel and look truly amazing in hand (so say the blessed who got the hands-on Galaxy Studio experience), I believe it might still not do justice to the exemplary features and applications Samsung has provided.
The Smart Pause
So you are watching this HD movie on your latest smart phone and suddenly your friend or family member gets your attention. You avert your eyes from the screen and the phone smartly pauses the video detecting that you are looking elsewhere. Handy eh? Now as soon as you concentrate back on the phone, it shall resume (again smartly) to let you enjoy the HD experience without any rewinding.
Air Gestures
This feature means that now you control your phone without touching it and without speaking to it. A simple hand gesture can be used to pick calls, scroll webpages up and down, play songs, or use many other commands without touching the screen. Since I myself am a messy eater, I find this feature a true blessing!
The Dual Camera
If you hate being the guy who’s missing from important photos just because he was the one taking them, this is for you. How about use the front 2MP and rear 13MP simultaneously? Now you can capture image from both the cameras and then use any of the multiple options to combine the images to form one single picture. Also this feature can be used in video chats where you can simultaneously make and receive video calls.
S Health
One of the most impressive applications included in the S4 package. Now you can measure your heart rate, and with the right equipment use the S4 to measure glucose level and blood pressure as well. For those who are calorie conscious, the Calorie Counter helps by advising a healthy diet based on the number of calories to be consumed.
The Final Word
This is just the tip of the iceberg. S4 includes many more applications equally impressive and making it by far the best smartphone for me!
